MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary runs September 16–December 7, 2026 at YURAKUCHO MUSEUM, but the right ticket now depends on two decisions: which exhibition period contains the material you care about, and whether you are buying through the domestic or overseas channel. The old “wait for overseas-card sales” advice is obsolete. The official site now publishes an overseas general-sale route for people living outside Japan with foreign-issued credit cards.
The bigger content change is that MAPPA has now confirmed all 23 featured titles and revealed that some major areas change between the first and second periods. For JUJUTSU KAISEN in particular, the first period focuses on Season 1 and JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 material; the second shifts to Season 2 and Culling Game Part 1. Do not choose September versus November purely by airfare if one set of production materials matters much more to you.

First period vs second period is now a content decision
The exhibition is split into:
First period: September 16–October 25, 2026.
Closed for changeover: October 26–27.
Second period: October 28–December 7.
Opening hours are 10:00–18:00 with last admission at 17:00. Entry is timed in 30-minute categories.
Earlier previews only highlighted several headline works. MAPPA has now published the full 23-title exhibition lineup, covering productions from Kids on the Slope and Terror in Resonance through Yuri!!! on ICE, Banana Fish, Dorohedoro, Vinland Saga Season 2, Hell's Paradise, Ranma 1/2, LAZARUS and the three headline areas.
That makes the event much easier to justify for a multi-title MAPPA fan than for someone interested in one series only. But it also means the first/second-period swap matters more, because the exhibition is not completely static across nearly three months.
JUJUTSU KAISEN fans have the clearest first-vs-second-period split
MAPPA currently describes the JJK area as a battle-scene retrospective using production materials including original animation drawings. The first period uses material from Season 1 and JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. The second period shifts to Season 2 — Hidden Inventory / Premature Death and Shibuya Incident — plus Culling Game Part 1.
This creates a very clean decision. If your favourite part of the anime is Gojo/Geto's past or the Shibuya material, the later period has a stronger content fit. If Season 1 or the movie is the reason you care, the first period is the better target.
Do not treat “later dates may be less crowded” as the main reason to choose November when the exhibition itself changes. Content outranks speculative crowd prediction.
Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan also rotate selected material
The Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc area follows Denji and Reze through production material and includes a life-size Bomb figure. The Attack on Titan Final Season area traces the story toward its ending and includes a Rumbling installation. MAPPA states that some exhibition material in both areas changes between the first and second periods.
The official page does not reduce those rotations to a simple “first half = scene A, second half = scene B” list for every item. If one exact production sequence is the whole reason for the trip, check the latest MAPPA EXPO announcement before buying a non-refundable timed ticket.
Overseas ticket sales are no longer “coming in August”
The current official ticket page now includes an overseas general-sale route for people living outside Japan who hold a credit card issued outside Japan. The sale is first-come, first-served and uses paper tickets. The official rules currently list Visa, JCB, Mastercard, Diners and American Express as accepted card brands.
This replaces the old July planning warning that overseas-card sales were merely expected “around August.” International visitors should now start from the official overseas purchase link shown on the current MAPPA EXPO site and check live inventory for the date/period they want.
There is still a reason to read the exact sale page rather than assuming every ticket phase is identical. Earlier August announcements initially described overseas sale coverage for the first period while later-period sales were still being released in stages. The live official page controls current availability.
Do not arrive 30 minutes early — the new queue rule says ten minutes
One of the most important operational updates is easy to miss. The current exhibition rules say visitors may line up only from 10 minutes before their timed entry. There is no waiting area for people who arrive earlier.
So a 14:00 ticket should not produce a 13:20 museum arrival just because you fear queues. Be in Yurakucho with enough city-level buffer, store luggage first, then approach the exhibition around the permitted queue window.
This is a useful distinction between travel buffer and queue buffer. Arrive in the neighbourhood early; do not crowd the venue early.
Ticket price is simple; the bundle decision is not
Current advance prices are JPY 2,000 for adults, JPY 1,600 for university/high-school students and JPY 1,200 for junior-high/elementary students. Same-day prices, when timed inventory remains, are JPY 2,200 / 1,800 / 1,400 respectively. Preschool children are free with a ticket-holding guardian aged 18 or older but do not receive the admission bonus or bundle item.
Three merchandise-set tickets cost JPY 4,000 advance or JPY 4,200 same day. Each adds a limited acrylic panel tied to one headline title: Chainsaw Man – Reze Arc, Attack on Titan Final Season or JUJUTSU KAISEN. The chosen panel cannot be changed after purchase and is not sold separately in the venue shop.
So the bundle costs roughly JPY 2,000 above ordinary adult advance admission. Buy it because you want that specific panel, not because the word “limited” makes the ticket sound more complete.
The merchandise shop is a second one-way decision
The exhibition and merchandise areas are separate, but the shop is not available as a standalone free-entry store. Keep your admission ticket until you reach merchandise. The current rules limit merchandise-area entry to once per admission ticket and checkout to once.
Stock is also not guaranteed simply because you have a timed exhibition ticket. MAPPA warns that products can sell out, purchase limits can change and restocking information may not be provided.
Use this sequence:
finish the exhibition material you want to revisit;
move to merchandise only when you are ready to shop;
prioritise the items you actually want before browsing every shelf;
do not build the value of the admission around one item whose stock is not guaranteed.
No re-entry means lunch, toilet and luggage should be solved first
MAPPA EXPO does not allow re-entry. Large items such as suitcases are not permitted inside the exhibition area; the organiser tells visitors to use the entrance cloakroom, station lockers or Tokyo International Forum lockers. Baby strollers are also not permitted inside and must be left at the entrance.
That makes a hotel-change day a poor time to improvise. Leave the main case at the hotel or in a confirmed locker before the timed slot. Eat beforehand if necessary, use the restroom, then enter with a small bag.
If the exhibition is part of a transfer day through Tokyo Station, remember that the physical distance to Yurakucho is short but station corridors and luggage handling still count. The Tokyo Station vs Shinjuku guide is more useful for choosing the hotel than this single event.
How much time should you reserve?
The organiser does not publish a standard visit duration, so any “two-hour visit” is editorial planning rather than an official guarantee. I would reserve roughly two to three hours when production material matters and add more flexibility if merchandise is a major goal.
For a casual fan who wants only several headline areas, the visit may be shorter. For someone reading production boards, original drawings and comparing goods, it can be longer. The best itinerary leaves the next reservation flexible rather than pretending every visitor exits on the same minute.
Yurakucho makes this an easy half-day anchor, not a reason to move hotels
YURAKUCHO MUSEUM sits in B1 of Tokyo International Forum. JR Yurakucho Station is beside the complex, and the area naturally pairs with Marunouchi, Tokyo Station, Hibiya and Ginza.
A simple afternoon structure is Tokyo Station/Marunouchi lunch → timed MAPPA EXPO slot → Ginza dinner. A morning slot can reverse that order and keep the rest of the day central. In rain, this compact geography becomes even more useful.

Who should go — and when does the recommendation reverse?
Strong fit: you follow several MAPPA works, care about production material rather than only merchandise, and can choose a timed slot that fits a central Tokyo day.
Strong first-period fit: JJK Season 1 / Movie 0 is the priority, or your September/October itinerary already works.
Strong second-period fit: JJK Season 2 / Culling Game material is more important, or you specifically want the later rotation of selected displays.
Weak fit: you only want the shop. Merchandise-only entry is not permitted.
Weak fit: your Tokyo dates are still moving and you are about to buy a non-refundable timed ticket simply because a slot is available.
Boundary condition: if one exact production item is the reason for the trip, verify the current period-specific display notice immediately before purchase. “MAPPA EXPO” is not one static exhibit from September through December.
Final verdict: choose the content period first, then the ticket channel
International visitors no longer need to wait for an unspecified overseas-card launch. Use the current official overseas general-sale route, choose the exhibition period based on the material you care about, then select the timed slot.
The biggest decision for JJK fans is now explicit: first period for Season 1 / Movie 0 production material, second period for Season 2 / Culling Game Part 1. Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan also rotate selected material. Once the period is fixed, the ordinary JPY 2,000 advance ticket is enough unless the title-specific acrylic panel is genuinely worth the JPY 2,000 bundle premium to you.
And on the day, do not arrive at the museum half an hour early. Be in Yurakucho early, solve luggage and food, then join the queue only within the organiser’s permitted ten-minute window.
